Dear Friends,
Welcome to our weekly liturgies. Our Saturday morning talks (10 .00- 11.00am) on the Christian mystics continue to be very well attended. Next Saturday will be on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German Lutheran pastor and martyr. Our reading club will have its third meeting tomorrow, Monday.
Just to remind you again that the Health & Safety inspectors have advised us strongly that we need a protective parapet to be constructed on top of the existing railing of the choir gallery. The railing, as it is, is deemed to be too low and, therefore, dangerous. Our architect is investigating the possibility of a wooden or glass parapet. Any contribution towards this construction would be gratefully received. Thank you!
Fr. Brendan

FAREWELL FROM IVA
As my role in Gardiner Street comes to an end, I want to say that I really enjoyed being here and working alongside you all. I already said it before - you are all living stones of our church. Our church building is beautiful and prayerful - but so are you! Thankyou, truly, for every conversation and for engaging so openly with every thing that is offered in the church. If in any way I offended anyone in my time here- I am sorry. I wish Fr. Brendan, the team and all of you, every blessing for the future. Let’s keep each other in prayer. This is not a goodbye - I will still be coming back here to be nourished. God’s blessing be upon you now and always,
Iva

SYNOD 2024
The Synod’s second session began in Rome this week. The second session of the Synod has as its focus the ‘how’ of ‘becoming a missionary synodal Church’. It will be the task of the Synod to outline how we are to become a truly missionary people.
For updates on the progress of the Synod, please pick up a copy of the Synod Weekly Newsletter at the back of the Church or visit https://dublindiocese.ie/synod2024/
Holy God,
You have made us all members of the body of Christ, the people of God,
and poured into our hearts the abundant gift of your Spirit.
Today, we pray earnestly for all gathered in Rome for the Synod:
may your grace go with them
and give to all the courage
to bring faith, hope and love in abundance
to meet the challenges before us.
We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

DO YOU LIKE TO SING?
If you like singing, or are looking to join a choir, or sang years ago and would like to take it up again... we will give you a warm welcome on Sunday mornings for 11am mass. Singing releases endorphins, reduces stress, is sociable and fun, and builds community.
Get in touch through the sacristy or the shop with your details. Or pop up to Margaret (Cantor) any Sunday at11am mass. And spread the word! If you have any friends, neighbours or relatives who like to sing, let them know, they would be most welcome.
