Hi, Fr Niall here, parish priest of Gardiner Street.
Since it was built by the Jesuits over 190 years ago, the church of St. Francis Xavier has been a sacred place of prayer and worship right in the heart of Dublin’s north inner city. It is part of the fabric and history of this community. The local people have so many memories of this place and yet we are also looking forward and helping to shape the future—our church is both old and new.
We would love to connect with you in person and the best way to do this is for you to join us for Mass, when our whole community gathers for worship. We also run a range of events which you can see on our events page. If you would like to get involved and use your gifts to serve others, just grab me or one of the team and we can talk.
So whether you were born and bred in Dublin or a more recent arrival to the area, we hope that this church is a place where you can stay close to God and to your neighbour.
With every good wish and blessing,
Fr Niall Leahy SJ
Monday evenings 7:30pm - 9pm in John Sullivan Room. Come Holy Spirit!
The next book in our reading club will be Paul – A Biography by the renowned scripture scholar, N.T. Wright, former Bishop of Durham. Next meeting on Monday 25th November
We believe that everyone was created by God and that everything is a part of creation.
We believe, as St Paul put it, that ‘God is love’ and that Jesus of Nazareth is His son.
We believe that because God is love, he sent Jesus to save us from our brokenness and to bring us back to God the Father.
In other words, ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may attain eternal life.’ (John 3:16)
In his life, Jesus also showed us how to live. He revealed to us the art of living.
At Gardiner Street Parish, we want to live like Jesus and share the love of God the Father with Dublin.
If you are new, it really helps us if you could sign up to the parish. This allows us to have accurate records and be able to invite you to what is coming up.
