Dear Parishioners,
We created a memory board with old photos from the church, and some personal memories that we shared with permission. You can see it at the back of the church! However, we would love to add more photos from the previous decades, from 1974 onwards. If you have photos of your favourite memories - baptisms, weddings, photos of your loved ones in the church - we would be delighter to include them on the memory board. You can either bring them to our shop, or email sfx@jesuit.ie. A few people shared their personal stories with us, and I want to thank them in particular! Do send us more stories. It is edifying to read personal experiences. These are shared anonymously.
Also, on 31st July, the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, at 7pm we will have a Mass of Celebrating the past 50 years as a parish. Archbishop Farrell with preside and preach at the Mass. That will be the last day of us being the parish, before we join the Pro-Cathedral Parish.
Let’s make the most of this last month as a parish, through sharing beautiful memories and celebrating this past ‘golden chapter’ - looking back in thanksgiving to look forward in hope.
God bless,
Iva

SOLEMNITY OF SAINTS PETER AND PAUL, APOSTLES- 29th June
What do the apostles Peter and Paul say to Christians today?
"Peter tells us that it is not enough to respond to the question – “Who is Jesus for me” – with a faultless doctrinal formula or a set of preconceived notions. No. It is only by following the Lord that we come to know him each day, only by becoming his disciples and listening to his words that we become his friends and experience his transforming love. Paul tells us that our answer to the question – “Who is Jesus for me?” – is not a privatized piety that leaves us peaceful and unconcerned about bringing the Gospel to others. The Apostle teaches us that we grow in faith and in knowledge of the mystery of Christ when we preach and bear witness to him before others.” Except of the homily of Pope Francis.
