Dear Friends,
Welcome to our weekly liturgies. I was delighted to welcome up to 40 people at the first of our Saturday sessions (10.00 -12.00) on Christian mystics. The group was enthusiastic and engaged. Our Monday Reading Club is also going very well.
Health &Safety inspectors have advised us strongly that we need a protective parapet to be constructed on top of the existing railing of the choir gallery. The railing, as it is, is deemed to be too low and, therefore, dangerous. Our architect is investigating the possibility of a wooden or glass parapet. Any contribution towards this construction would be gratefully received. Thank you!
Fr. Brendan
OCTOBER APPEAL
Every October we raise money to carry out a project to improve our church building and facilities.
Last year, your generous donations made possible to redecorate the John Sullivan Room, which is now available for hire and for events such as the talks on the mystics.
This year, theproject selected for October Appeal is the installation of a protective parapeton top of the existing railing of the choir gallery, which is to make it safer for the organist and the church choir members.
Envelops are available at the back of the Church and in the Parish Office.
INTRODUCTION TOTHE MYSTICS –
Continues on Saturday 5th October, at 10 am.
Fr Brendan will give a talk on St. Therese Lisieux.
Take a leaflet with the full programme at the back of the Church.

GOD WALKS WITH HIS PEOPLE
Message of Pope Francis for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees (29th September 2024)
“Dear brothers and sisters, on this day dedicated to migrants and refugees, let us unite in prayer for all those who have had to leave their land in search of dignified living conditions. May we journey together with them, be “synodal” together, and entrust them, as well as the forthcoming Synod Assembly, “to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a sign of sure hope and consolation to the faithful People of God as they continue their journey”
God, Almighty Father,
Help us to keep walking,
together with our migrant brothers and sisters,
toward the eternal dwelling you have prepared for us.
Open our eyes and our hearts
so that every encounter with those in need
becomes an encounter with Jesus, your Son and our Lord.
Amen.
