The monthly Mass in honour of Blessed John Sullivan SJ will be celebrated on Saturday 17th August at 1 pm.

READING CLUB

 Fr. Brendan has had some requests from parishioners about starting up a reading club next September. One parishioner said, I need to have an intelligent faith.” With this in mind, Fr. Brendan proposes a group reading of Who is Jesus? – An Introduction to Christology by Fr Thomas P. Rausch, S.J. This book is available for purchase onAmazon.com. No prior knowledge of theology is required! This is a very accessible book. Think about it over the summer. More news about this in early September.

 

INTRODUCTION TO THE MYSTICS

 Last year Fr. Brendan ran a very successful course on some Christian mystics. This year, he proposes giving acourse on eight further mystics. Again, no prior knowledge of these mystics isrequired. The course will begin on Saturday, 21st September and will continueuntil Saturday, 9th November. There will be a further reminder in early September.

SHOP OPENING TIMES

 Until the 17th of August, the Shop will be open only Monday to Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It’ll be closed Monday 19th of August.

 

FILM SERIES ON THE MASS

Bayside Alpha are hosting Bishop Barron’s 6-week film series on The Mass, starting on Sunday, August 4, from7:30pm to 8:30pm. This series will help you understand how to fully,consciously, and actively participate in the source and summit of the Christianlife. YOUTH 2000 SUMMER FESTIVAL

Join young people between 16 and35 this August at the Youth 2000 Summer Festival. The festival takes place in Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co Kildare from Thursday 15th August to Sunday18th August 2023. The festival includes inspiring talks, music, prayer, concert, workshops, dramas, share groups, reconciliation and healing service and Mass. A SAFETALK: SUICIDE ALERTNESS FOREVERYONE is taking place in TU Dublin (Rathdown House, Grangegorman Campus) on August 15th from 9:30am – 1pm.

 

ST JAMES’S HOSPITAL - WIDE PATIENTVOLUNTEER SERVICE

The hospital is delighted to announce the launch of a new hospital wide Patient Volunteer Service. The service, which will commence in September, will provide personal and practical support to patients and visitors attending St James’s Hospital. From simply helping someone check in for their clinic appointment, or guiding a patient to their clinic destination, the service aims to have a positive impact on our patients and visitors experience in the hospital. Over the next two months, the hospital will be recruiting volunteers for the service.
